Community Awareness and Mobilization for Development

The Association of Clubs was awarded an amount of $2,690,000 to use the participatory approach to help communities broaden their options for development and realize their potential. The project will also upgrade the literacy and skill base of communities and develop eight videos for use in education and advocacy. The videos are meant to sensitise communities to such issues as teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, protection of the environment, changing roles of women and historical/cultural sites.
In order to anchor the work of the organization, the Petersfield Community centre will be remodelled to accommodate the computer-based literacy program for four groups of eight persons over a two-year period.
