 Fundraising
Like all of the ten funds established under the programme of the Enterprise of the America’s initiative of the USA, the EFJ was set up as a sinking fund, that is, with the expectation that its activities would cease when its capital was completely disbursed. In the terms of the governing Agreement this should be in 2012, or before depending on the pace and volume of disbursements. The concerns for child development and the environment however will continue to be pivotal to national development beyond the life of the current fund. In reflecting on the implications of this, and the national responsibility of the EFJ, the Board of Directors decided to develop a fundraising strategy to raise additional funds to extend the work of the organization beyond 2012.
