News from Grantees and Members- January 2010

Jamaica Environment Trust (JET) has put out the January 2010 issue of their Newsletter Earth Notes.This issue includes information on the closure of the Schools Environment Programme (SEP) and the showing of 'The COVE' a documentary produced by The Oceanic Preservation Society


Association of Clubs, EFJ Grantee and Member recently received visitors from Plymouth State University to carry out community volunteer work for from January 9-16, 2010. Click here for photos.


On January 26th, 2010, the Department of Life Sciences, University of the West Indies officially launched the UWI/EFJ Port Royal Marine Laboratory Biodiversity Centre. Students, academia, NGO representatives and government agencies were in attendance to view this first class educational facility that will provide valuable information on marine life and wetlands from the Kingston Harbour, Palisadoes area as well as serve as a teaching and research centre.
