World Wetlands Day (WWD) is celebrated on Feburary 2nd and to mark the occasion NEPA will be hosting a World Wetlands Day Display at the Old Navy Hospital, Port Royal, February 2, 2010, 8:30am-5:30pm. Activities will include boat tours, exhibitions and presentations to schools, community groups and stakeholders.
The International theme for WWD is 'Biodiversity, Wetlands and Climate Change' , Slogan: 'Caring for Wetlands an answer to Climate Change.' Jamaica has three wetland sites which are designated Ramsar sites (Wetlands of International Importance). These include The Palisadoes-Port Royal where the display will take place.
